Oral surgery covers a broad range of procedures that affect the teeth, gums, and jawbone. Dr. Kent has specialized training to perform many types of oral surgery, including:

Tooth removal

A tooth extraction is a procedure to remove a tooth from its socket. While a simple extraction doesn’t require surgery, a surgical extraction does. During a surgical extraction, the team makes an incision in your gums to remove a tooth that’s trapped beneath the gumline.

Dental implants

Dental implants are small titanium posts that require surgical placement into your tooth-supporting bone and tissue. If you have missing teeth, dental implants can replace your tooth roots to hold your replacement teeth securely in place.

Root canal

A root canal is a tooth-saving treatment that can restore a tooth in danger of extraction. This procedure involves removing the pulp in the center of your tooth to prevent the spread of decay or infection.

Gum graft

If you have receding gums from periodontal disease or teeth grinding, the team can perform a gum graft. The procedure uses tissue from another area of your mouth, typically the roof of your mouth, to rebuild receding gums.
